Hermanus is renowned as the prime whale-watching destination in this part of the world, particularly between the months of May and December. It also offers plenty of exciting activities, from golf to shark cage diving, and a number of cultural pursuits - including the renowned Old Harbour Museum and several organic and gourmet markets.

The hotel's New Wing boasts 18 luxurious suites with included lounge and kitchen areas, although you may choose instead to stay in the restored Manor House. All rooms feature a kitchenette, en-suite bathroom, private balcony, and Wi-Fi.

Property facilities

Your stay at Harbour House wouldn't be complete without experiencing the whale-watching view from the onsite infinity pool. Offering unobstructed views of the ocean, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some unforgettable sites. Massages, facials, and more can be found at the Mint Wellness Salon, a luxurious spa facility where you can enjoy an afternoon of pampering, while days out in the town of Hermanus can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace via the hotel's bicycle rental service.

Food, drink & entertainment

The hotel restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner incorporating fresh local produce. Friday nights promise to be especially delectable occasions as Harbour House hosts a traditional South African barbeque. Equally authentic is the wine bar, which offers a variety of award-winning wines from the surrounding vineyards of the Overberg region, as well as a range of craft beers.

Sport, games & activities

As mentioned, whale-watching is the activity most associated with Hermanus. You can enjoy this from the shore, but may prefer to partake in one of the many exciting boat-based tours available. The town also features a golf club and 18-hole course, as well as shark cage diving for thrill-seeking guests. The nearby Dyer Island is one of the last places in which great white sharks still gather in number, making it an unmissable experience for enthusiasts.

Room facilities

Every room and suite at Harbour House can boast a spacious layout, each featuring a kitchenette and lounge area, as well as a private balcony. Wi-Fi is available, as is a mini bar and coffee-making station. The decor is light and stylish, providing each room with a soft, relaxing feel.
