Take a lift to the top of the Empire State Building or the Rockefeller Centre, hop on the Staten Island ferry and snap that skyline, meander through contrasting neighbourhoods or simply loll around in Central Park. New York is whatever you want it to be.

New York’s rich cultural heritage means the city has restaurants from pretty much anywhere in the world. You can taste some of the best pasta in the world in Little Italy, or amazing noodles in Chinatown. For a real culinary treat, book a table at one of the city’s many top notch, celebrity chef-owned eateries. Don’t miss breakfast in a basement diner; it’ll set you up for the day. And grab a hot pretzel or a pizza slice from a street cart; they’re pretty much essential ingredients to a good New York trip.
