Wander the streets of the French Quarter and visit restaurants serving traditional Creole fare as you listen to street musicians playing Jazz tunes. Take a steamboat cruise along the river, experience the historical feel Jackson Square, or take in the carnival atmosphere of Mardi Gras World.
Visit the bustling French Market packed with local vendors selling clothes, gifts, souvenirs, and delicious sweet treats. City Park is an urban green space for a peaceful walk amongst woodland and many famous museums. Following your stay in New Orleans, you will transfer to Jackson via Amtrak, where you will stay for two nights in your selected hotel.
Mississippi's capital, Jackson encompasses a number of historic sites and things to do. If you're feeling adventurous, why not camp, golf, and fish in the 305-acre LeFleur's Bluff State Park of lakes, forests, and fields? Check out government exhibits in the grand building of the Old Capitol Museum or if you have a passion for food, the Mississippi Agriculture Museum is a great place to find out where your food starts out; check out the living history farm, crossroads town, and forest study area.
Take a stroll through the Fondren District and discover many inviting art galleries, as well as quaint cafes, bakeries, and mouth-watering restaurants. Greenwood Cemetery is a fantastic green open space if you wish to pack a picnic or perhaps soak up the fascinating history. Visit The Jackson Zoological Park for a day out that will suit the whole family; get up close to over 120 animal species.
2 nights - The Guesthouse at Graceland - Memphis
For your final two nights you will transfer via Amtrak from Jackson to Memphis. Check into your chosen accommodation.
Memphis is, of course, well-known for its influential strains of blues, soul, and rock 'n' roll that originated there. No visit would be complete without visiting Graceland - the home of Elvis Presley - which includes Elvis Presley's Memphis entertainment complex with its The Entertainer Career Museum, Presley Motors, and Discovery Exhibits. You could also call at B.B. King's Blues Club for a real taste of what Tennessee nightlife is like.
If you're more of a history lover, why not relive the days of cotton traders at Cotton Row?
