Depart in the morning for your daytime flight to Havana where you stay two nights at the locally rated 5-star Melia Habana in Miramar, a residential district known for its hotels and large mansions, most of which were abandoned at the time of the revolution and now house foreign embassies.
The hotel is surrounded by tropical gardens and offers five restaurants, a snack bar, three bars, a swimming pool and a fitness centre. There are 462 air-conditioned rooms arranged over 19 floors and served by lifts. All have a satellite television, telephone, tea and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, minibar and room service (both extra charge).
Contrast old and modern Havana on an included tour. Enjoy lunch and dinner at a local restaurant, plus a Cuban cocktail lesson before dinner. Perhaps treat yourself to an optional Tropicana show this evening.
